We are excited to held our very first BSides CTF Competition this year!

This CTF will be a 1 day on-site CTF in Jeopardy-style,

targeting for layman to taste the fun and have an idea of what is CTF.

No teaming, solve on your own!​

Do your best to get as many flags as you can!

It is your show time~!​

Rules

General Rules

  1. Eligibility: The competition is open to individuals. Participants must register in advance.

  2. Code of Conduct: All participants must adhere to the competition's code of conduct, which includes respectful behavior towards others and no cheating or sabotage.

  3. Equipment: Participants are responsible for bringing their own laptops and any necessary software. The competition organizers will provide network access and any required virtual machines.

  4. In case of any dispute, BSidesHK reserves the right of the final decision.

Competition Format

  1. Jeopardy-Style Challenges: The competition will feature a series of challenges in various categories such as web security, cryptography, reverse engineering, pwn, and miscellaneous.

  2. Scoring: Points will be awarded for each challenge completed. The individual with the highest score at the end of the competition wins.

 

Challenge Rules

  1. Flag Submission: Participants must submit flags through the competition's official platform. Each flag submission must include a brief description of how the flag was obtained.

  2. Hints: Hints may be provided for certain challenges, but using hints will result in a reduction of points for that challenge.

  3. Winner PresentationWinners will be required to give a brief presentation, lasting 5-10 minutes, describing how they solved the challenge. This presentation should cover the key steps and techniques used to arrive at the solution.

Conduct and Fair Play

  1. No Sabotage: Participants must not interfere with the systems or progress of other participants. Any form of sabotage will result in immediate disqualification.

  2. Collaboration: Collaboration between participants is not allowed. Each participant must work independently.

  3. Reporting Issues: Any technical issues or disputes must be reported to the competition organizers immediately.

  4. Prohibited Use of AI Tools: Participants are strictly prohibited from using any AI tools, including but not limited to AI-based code generators, solvers, or assistants, to solve challenges. Any participant found using such tools will be immediately disqualified from the competition.

  5. Prohibited Assistance: Participants are strictly prohibited from seeking or receiving help from any individuals or groups to solve challenges. Participant found engaging in such activities will be immediately disqualified from the competition.

Prizes and Recognition

  1. Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants.
