Who they are


Dr.Malcom Shore

OffSec Trainer

Dr Malcolm Shore is British by birth – a Yorkshireman - and Kiwi by nature.

He has had a varied career covering government and industry, with the opportunity for adjunct spells in academia both teaching and supervising research.

He held a commission in the New Zealand Air Force retiring as a Squadron Leader, and subsequently New Zealand’s national information security program as Director Infosec at GCSB. He has held CSO roles in the telecommunications sector in both Australia and New Zealand, and was Technical Director for BAE Systems Applied Intelligence (Australia).


At a technical level, Malcolm has a background in programming in languages such as Fortran, Cobol, Algol68, C, Pascal, and Python.

He has worked in machine code and assembly code on Atmel and ARM chips.

In addition to running corporate security teams, he has managed technical teams doing penetration testing, reverse engineering, and Common Criteria evaluation


Malcolm was instrumental in the development of the Australian Certificate IV in Cybersecurity, and developed and taught in the Canterbury University, NZ post graduate diploma in security and forensics. He has held adjunct positions in Australia at the University of NSW and is currently Adjunct Professor at Deakin University’s Centre for Cybersecurity Research and Innovation. Malcolm is a prolific author of Linkedin Learning cybersecurity courses and is currently a developer for Offensive Security focusing mainly on building out the OSDA Certification courseware and labs.

Andy Wong

DevOps consultant

Andy Wong is an experienced DevOps consultant with over a decade of experience in Cloud Automation, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) for apps and cloud platforms. Andy is currently working by a major US cloud service provider and specializes in assisting customers in transitioning from DevOps to DevSecOps. Throughout his career, Andy has been instrumental in helping firms effortlessly integrate automation into their software development lifecycle (SDLC).


Alvin Deng

Senior Security Consultant

Alvin is currently a Senior Security Consultant in AWS Professional Services HK. He has over 10 years’ experience in security domain, with focus and interest in cloud security, red/blue team, security assessment, incident response and threat modeling.

Captain Kelvin

Security Researcher

Captain (a.k.a. Forensics and Hardware Ninja) is an independent security researcher.

He focuses on hardware, UAS (Drone) security researches, and digital forensics analysis.

He was the first and the only Asian who led a group of white-hat hackers to hold an in-depth, hands-on drone and hardware hacking village in BLACK HAT and DEFCON.

He was also a frequent speaker and trainer in different top-notch security and forensics conferences including SANS, HTCIA, DFRWS, GCC, CodeBlue, HITB, SINCON, AVTokyo and HITCON.

Cato Yuen

Security Researcher

Cato Yuen is a drone pilot with over 10 years of experience, he has been building his own multirotor drones and providing unmanned aerial services to local government and corporations.

He founded Flysmart Digi in 2015, bringing multirotor components to individuals, works with various manufacturers in product development and testing for upcoming multirotor technologies. In recent years Cato also organizes events with local schools and organizations to provide training and experience opportunities for interested parties.
